The Marketors throws down the gauntlet to Westminster Kingsway Apprentices

The Worshipful Company of Marketors, “The Marketors”, has announced the launch of its Enterprise Challenge in which the apprentices at Westminster Kingsway College are tasked with demonstrating that “Marketing for Good is Good Marketing”.

Apprentices from companies such as Nielsen’s, Westminster Wealth Management, Urban Planters, Rain Cloud Victoria, Axiom TDM and Ufford Park Hotel will be competing for a prestigious award by showing the value and values of marketing in British Society.

The competition will see teams pitching marketing ideas which reduce food waste and obesity, while helping those in need. They will present at The Enterprise and Employability Festival on the 16th November to Levi Roots of television’s Dragon’s Den fame, the creator of “Reggae Reggae Sauce”, while David Pearson, the Master of the Marketors, will judge the overall winners later in the year.

Sharon Barry, Westminster Kingsway College Programme Manager, says: “This type of initiative is an excellent way for our apprentices to compete at the very highest level in a real-world business environment. We really value the support that The Marketors are giving us and our apprentices and have no doubt that the pitches and ideas will be of the best quality. We are delighted to be participating in the challenge and the award will demonstrate to students that the skills of marketers are in high demand and a great asset to society as a whole.”

David Pearson, Master of The Marketors, says: “The route of apprenticeships in livery companies is a tradition of many centuries which remains unbroken. Initiatives such as this challenge open up a world of possibilities to apprentices and enable them to use what they’ve learned and demonstrate their skills and creativity for an excellent cause. We are pleased to encourage a new generation of marketing practitioners who can play such an important role in business, particularly using The Marketors 2016 theme surrounding using marketing for good.”

The Enterprise and Employability Festival will be held on 16th November at Westminster Kingsway College and the awards will be presented on 14th December.
