Junckers, Europe’s leading supplier of specialist hardwood sports and multipurpose floors, is collaborating with specialist contractor Willmott Dixon in the ‘Education Building’ at the new BRE Innovation Park.
Willmott Dixon’s specialist sustainability consultancy, Re- Thinking, has developed the unique zero-carbon Re-Thinking School to help show schools how it is possible to build carbonneutral, energy efficient buildings using recycled and sustainable materials. As part of this, Junckers supplied PEFC- certified SylvaSport solid Beech for the ground floor, laid with specialist New Era undercarriage systems to create two multi-purpose areas compliant with the new higher level BSEN14904 regulations. The stairs and selected first floor areas are laid with Junckers SylvaTech Plus.
Junckers has recently launched two new product & service packages for the Education Sector. Project Service aids both the designer and the builder by attaching a nominated member of Junckers’ Technical Department to a client’s project team to ensure optimal results for the installation. Projects installed by approved contractors can qualify for ‘Junckercare’ scheduled checks and maintenance linked to a new 25 Year Warranty. This gives educators a new way to cost and manage sports floors and multipurpose halls.
