Olivetti’s touch tablets are the new kids on the block
Published:  15 December, 2011

With many schools asking their students to equip themselves with the latest touch tablet technology, Olivetti is delighted to announce the addition of two new affordable tablets, to its IT Range, the OliPad 110 and OliPad Smart. The OliPad 110 and OliPad Smart, measure 10 and 7 inches in size, respectively, and offer access to the Android market’s countless applications and Olivetti’s own ‘Application Warehouse’. It can be pre-installed with e-reading software and can be linked directly to digital white-boards, so lessons and homework are not only interactive but they can be fun too!

Technically speaking, the OliPad 110 runs on the Android Honeycomb operating system, and comes equipped with a 1 GHz processor, 1 GB RAM, and 16GB of storage, as well as supporting memory cards of up to 32 GB. The multi-touch display boasts an HD resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels and it also supports Flash, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The OliPad 110 comes with a 5 megapixel camera, a 2 megapixel front-facing video camera, and a wide range of accessories including a protective folding case, screen protector films, HDMI cable, capacitive pen, adapter and a car recharger, so the OliPad 110 can be recharged on the way to school.

The 7” OliPad Smart is the compact version. It provides an 800 x 480 pixel display and also supports Flash 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, making it perfect for web-surfing indoors or outside, and for managing multimedia content from music to video and photos. The OliPad Smart uses the Android Froyo operating system on a 1GHz processor, using 512 MB RAM and 8 GB of storage, along with memory card support for up to 32 GB, MicroUSB and MicroSD ports, and two cameras.

It also offers a range of optional accessories including a sturdy protective cover, protective screen films, capacitive pen and a replaceable lithium battery.
