New online nutrition course for bite-sized learning
Published:  15 December, 2011

School and Further Education caterers looking to provide healthier meals can learn about nutrition and take an examination within just 2 to 3 hours. That’s the amount of time required to complete a new online course from Verner Wheelock Associates (VWA). The City and Guilds accredited ‘Nutrition, Healthier Food and Special Diets - Foundation’ is available through Virtual College (www.virtual-college.co.uk) and has a clear, modular format, so that trainees can learn in their own time and at their own pace.

Developed by nutrition experts, the course provides a step-by-step introduction to the basic principles of nutrition and healthy eating and includes modules on menu planning, changes in nutritional requirements throughout life, links between nutrition and health and special diets.

The course costs just £45, but enrol before 30th September for 10% off. Visit www.vwa.co.uk  and enter ‘VWANUT1’ on the booking form. VWA also offer Food Safety courses, online and offline.
