ADT upgrades fire detection and alarm systems at Oundle School
Published: 15 December, 2011
ADT Fire & Security is upgrading the fire detection and alarm systems at Oundle School from analogue to digital addressable technology. ADT installed the Minerva system into Oundle School in the early 1990s. With such a large site, the move to a digital addressable system will help ensure the school is protected by highly advanced and reliable technology, supporting a higher number of devices on one loop which gives increased flexibility for more complex sites.
Consys Express allows the configuration of ADT's digital based systems including switching on evacuation alarm sounders, closing fire doors or automatically alerting the fire service via ADT's alarm receiving centre. The tool allows the building occupier to adapt the original fire system configuration whenever required. Furthermore, ADT has installed over 600 carbon monoxide detectors which have significantly reduced the number of false alarms on site and ensures early detection should a fire actually occur.
