The system filters mains water, momentarily flash chills it, mixing it with fresh fruit concentrate before packaging the drink in a flat-packed flexible pouch. The flash chill facility momentarily chills drinks as they are made rather than having to refrigerate them constantly, which uses £200 a year less electricity than a traditional vending machine. The 1000 pouch capacity, which is up to four times greater than a conventional vending machine, means less frequent re-stocking.
Schools can choose from a selection of schools compliant water-based fruit drinks, which are free of sugar, artificial colours and artificial flavours as well as the One Water charity owned brand. Independent schools and colleges can also choose from a range of branded drinks including Vimto, Sunkist, Pomegreat and Bottlegreen.
The Green Drinks Company is offering schools a free two week trial and up to 1000 free drinks when a machine is installed.
