In this period of economic uncertainty and public sector spending cuts, education caterers are facing operating circumstances that are tougher and more challenging than ever before. Everyone is being expected to do more for less. School caterers are under even greater pressure to maintain high standards and a quality school meals service whilst striving to find ever more innovative, creative, enterprising and budget conscious initiatives and measures which bring out positive outcomes and sustain uptake.
This is why this year’s Conference has the title and theme of 'When The Going Gets Tough...' We all need to look at how we can ensure the future survival and prosperity of the school meals service whilst we, as individuals, remain strong, prepared and determined to weather the storms ahead.
LACA 2011 brings together speakers with experienced views and observations on politics and the economy, from a national and local perspective, to give us all a realistic insight into how the future is likely to shape up on a business and personal level. Speakers are also on hand to relay their own/personal experiences to show how even the toughest challenges can be met head on and how major adversity can be turned into success and achievement. In some cases, what may seem insurmountable problems and obstacles in our everyday lives, will reduce in scale and enormity when compared to the accounts you will hear of selfless bravery and stoic perseverance.
