“We offer training for all aspects of crowd management and security,” explains Managing Director and founder of the school, Wayne Grove. “This includes equipping staff for all situations from pit crews at festivals to in-house teams for venues, corporate security to close protection for VIPs. It’s a varied remit and requires a wide span of skills.”
The Security Training School is currently offering a 12-week apprenticeship course to 18 year olds. This gives them the chance to earn £95 a week as they learn and provides the opportunity to work at some of the UK’s most iconic festivals such as Isle of Wight, Glastonbury, Leeds and Reading and live music and sporting venues like Wembley Stadium, The O2 and The O2 Brixton Academy.
“We are very proud to say we have 100% pass rate,” says Wayne. “By spending just one day a week in school and three days a week out working, by the end of the summer any 18 year old who joins us will walk away with a qualification that opens the door to a great full time career, or the ability to work part time, whenever they need to, if they want to go on to further education.”
