Reynaers airmax - a breath of fresh air
Published:  17 June, 2011

Airmax is a unique, parallel opening window system from Reynaers Aluminium. When open, the parallel window allows air to penetrate around its entire perimeter facilitating highly efficient ventilation, increasing air flow by almost double in comparison to a traditional top hung window. This creates less draught within a room because the open space is more evenly distributed around the frame.

An independent study found greater, more efficient air mixing in the studied environment when using a parallel opening system. Based on models of a standard classroom, with 30 children seated and 2 adults, the study revealed carbon dioxide levels were considerably reduced, falling to 575 ppm with parallel windows as opposed to 757ppm for top hung.

Another significant benefit of the Reynaers Airmax System is the optimized safety and security that it offers opening being restricted to 100 mm, a particularly appropriate benefit for school buildings.
