New improvement programme for schools
Published:  17 June, 2011

Frog has unveiled a practical tool to help school leaders achieve their strategic visions by introducing ‘Frog’s School Improvement Programme’ at its annual National Learning Platforms Conference this month. With a focus on collaboration and raising standards, 21 schools offered an insight into how their learning platform is making real impact in their school.

Lucy Evans, Community Manager at Frog says: “The core of the programme is Frog’s School Improvement Framework; a free online tool which gives senior leaders the ability to align the development of Frog with the school’s development plans. It allows schools to evaluate themselves with the premise that you can’t manage what you can’t measure.

The framework provides the tools to monitor and manage a team of people using a living action plan that can be reviewed and amended at any time.

Anne-Louise Payne, Deputy Head Teacher at the Howard of Effingham School in Surrey took part in the pilot to get the framework up and running: “It was a really useful exercise that helped us refocus and assess where we are on our learning platform journey.”

Greg Hughes, Assistant Principal at The De Ferrers Academy in Staffordshire added: “Frog’s School Improvement Programme is like having an MRI scan for your learning platform. It shows you what you’ve got, but also identifies the problems you might not realise you had.”
