Top of the class was an independent Steiner school based in York. The small, independently run school, which was picked at random, was delighted to scoop the top prize which included 10 classrooms of Supacord flooring, a commercial SEBO vacuum cleaner and a Prochem Cleaning Kit. The school is set-up as a charitable organisation – so was delighted to win new carpet for 10 of its classrooms, as funds are usually allocated to enhancing a childs’ learning experience, rather than spent on fixtures and fittings.
Taking second prize of three classrooms of Supacord carpets, the commercial SEBO vacuum cleaner and Prochem Cleaning Kit was comprehensive secondary school, Woking High School. The school, which currently has 1200 students, achieved Specialist Technology status in 2004 and has gone from strength to strength ever since. The schools’ ethos is built on a strong sense of belonging, designed to build ownership and helps students to take pride in their surroundings and environment.
