An air heat recovery system captures the energy from waste steam and uses it to heat the incoming cold water supply. As well as slashing the energy consumption by around 6kW per hour, it minimises the amount of steam escaping from the warewasher, significantly enhancing the working environment while reducing the workload on the site’s extraction system.
Rack-activated zones automatically adapt to changing volumes, saving resources and running costs during quiet times; in busy times, its ‘rapid programme’ increases the conveyor speed and can quickly deal with lightly soiled dishes.
Assuming the new STR Energy is in use six hours per day, Winterhalter estimates it will cut costs by around £1,050 per year.
