Cooking Up a Healthy Offering
Comment by Chris Creed, Managing Director, Creed Foodservice
Published:  08 April, 2011

As a leading delivered wholesaler to the education sector, Creed Foodservice knows what it takes to create exciting menus for schools that also meet nutritional standards.

Chris Creed, Managing Director of Creed, says that working closely with your wholesale partner is key to delivering tasty, nutritional menus and great value. He says: “We have always worked closely with our customers and deliver added value through this close collaboration. Recently we’ve taken this a step further through introducing the Saffron Nutritional software to our offering, enabling our customers to integrate their nutritional analysis with their ordering programmes.

This makes life easier as everything they need to plan, analyse and order is all linked. Reporting is made simple so that managers and chefs can easily work together to meet nutritional, cost and menu guidelines.

At Creed we’ve a strong track record in supplying schools with high quality fresh produce and dry goods and helping them plan their menus. In fact we supply the ingredients that go into making more than 10 million school meals every year.”

Creed customer Class Catering believes that the relationship with Creed is key to a successful partnership. Says Fred Capewell: ““We were already using Saffron but as Creed now employs it too for its work in care homes, we really are able to come up with menus together. It simplifies the process and means our menus accurately reflect the quality ingredients used.”

Creed Foodservice supplies high quality food and non-food goods to more than 1700 customers and caterers in the ‘out of home’ sector from its two distribution centres in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and Ilkeston, Derbyshire. It has a broad cross section of clients including state and independent primary and senior schools, colleges and Universities.
