Class Catering has developed a reputation for quality school meals since its inception and is proud to offer bespoke catering solutions for every school it works with – for Class there is no such thing as ‘one size fits all’. In 2002, before new catering standards were introduced, Creed Foodservice helped Class become pioneers of a reduced E-number menu that was implemented in one of its schools to see how it would affect the behaviour of pupils - it was a resounding success!
Alison describes their relationship with the Cheltenham-based wholesaler as excellent, and believes a major factor for this is that Creed know them exceptionally well. “They filter unnecessary manufacturers and only offer us relevant products saving us a lot of time,” she says. “Creed show new products to our chefs and are really proactive; we discuss school meals and nutrition with them and advise them on what schools want. They also support our annual meeting by letting us use the conference facilities at Brickhampton Golf Club, which is owned by them. It really is a two-way relationship.”
With the added benefit of Saffron technology from Fretwell-Downing Hospitality, a nutritional analysis software, Creed Foodservice and Class Catering have been able to create award-winning menus for children from nursery age right up to sixth form.
