The new school building was designed by Maber Associates Architects and uses a variety of Altro flooring and walling products, installed by Westcotes Flooring Company, to give a vibrant new look while also being able to withstand the wear and tear of a busy school environment.
Colourful and practical, Altro Suprema™ safety flooring has been used throughout the new facility in classrooms, corridors, general circulation areas and toilets. Altro Stronghold™ flooring and Altro Whiterock™ wall cladding have been installed in the school kitchens to provide practical and attractive surfaces that are both hardwearing and easy to clean. In addition, Altro Walkway™ safety flooring has been installed in the IT rooms, with Altro Timbersafe™ and AltroSmooth Ethos™ floor coverings in other teaching rooms.
“Design was a key consideration for us when selecting interior surfaces for our new school building,” said deputy head teacher, Mr Buxton. “Through the BSF programme, we have created an exciting new school environment .Altro flooring and walling is easy to clean and durable enough to cope with high levels of wear and tear for years to come.”
“Having used Altro products previously, I knew that they offered the strong aesthetics and long term performance that we were looking for,” said Andy Lomas, Contracts Manager for Bowmer and Kirkland, who were the main contractors on the site.
Ideal for general circulation areas, receptions and corridors, Altro Suprema offers all the benefits of a safety floor with none of the all-over sparkle common to other safety floors, meaning a fresh, clean look can be achieved. Available in a wide range of colours, hard wearing and offering good slip resistance, the Suprema range is also easy to maintain for long lasting good looks and performance.
