The first judging panel will shortlist the entries, which will then go through to the final where another panel of judges will select the ultimate winner. The winning school will win £1,000 of products for their libraries and there will be additional prizes for the runners up, all donated by Demco. As well as prizes, the winning library team will be invited to an exciting awards evening in London and will share the stage with the 2011 School Librarian of the Year Award Winner.
The school libraries will be judged across a set of criteria: inviting/improved library image; space planning; educational objectives; technology and engagement; consultation.
