The preparatory school, which offers a co-educational day and boarding environment for children aged 3-13, had a dedicated sports hall that was used daily by all the students, but lacked a large performance space for the regular drama and music events enjoyed by the children, staff and parents. Adding raked seating to one end of the sports hall created a useful space for performing to an audience, but the hard surfaces of the hall caused reverberation and there were additional audio feedback issues with an existing sound system.
Bose and its authorised Pro Partner, Fabtronic, worked together to come up with a solution that would enable the drama and music groups to put on performances to be proud of. Consisting of two Bose Panaray® 802 full range loudspeakers, plus Bose FreeSpace® 32SE speakers over the raked seating area, the new system gives even sound coverage throughout the venue and to every seat in the house. The system is linked to an Allen & Heath PA25 mixing desk and has a separate audio input plate.
Head of CDT, Nick Cooper, who worked with Bose and Fabtronic to come up with a solution to meet the school’s requirements, is delighted with the results.
