ICT Online Assessment - Just a click away with GOAL
Published:  01 June, 2007

One of the biggest frustrations for teachers today is assessing ICT. The new GOAL ICT Online Assessments offered by Education Development International (EDI), allow teachers to assess the ICT capabilities of pupils in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, drawing packages and the internet. Designed by teachers for teachers, the assessments incorporate the latest interactive technology delivering a range of tasks for students to accomplish, in order to establish their ability in ICT and measure knowledge and skill levels.

The assessments are also designed to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of both the class and individual pupils in easy to read reports. These reports give teachers the opportunity to focus their teaching on targeted areas and make reporting class and pupil progress much easier, freeing up their valuable time. GOAL ICT Online Assessments also provide an ideal baseline assessment for any year and can be funded by ‘e-learning credits’.

EDI offers a wider range of GOAL Assessments, including English, Maths, Science and Life Skills, these provide a simple and quick way to monitor progress throughout primary and secondary education across the core subjects. All of the assessments are web based reporting systems that are used extensively throughout schools in the UK. Reports produced by the assessments can illustrate the National Curriculum level that pupils are working to and can help teachers to set realistic targets for class and individual development.
