Editor’s Letter – March 2010
Published:  12 March, 2010

Dear Reader,

I am delighted to introduce myself as the new Editor of Education Today. In preparation for the role I reported on BETT 2010 where I met a number of companies all working hard to address key issues in education, by providing tools to boost teaching and learning across the curriculum and aid in the whole school management process. Hot off the heels of this, this month I take an even closer look at how these technologies can be integrated smoothly into classroom practice with findings from the TDA and relevant case studies.

Over the last couple of years particularly, a hot topic in the education, business and financial press has been that of a ‘skills crises’ in science, technology, engineering and maths. In ‘STEM in the real world’, I take a look at how Industry can dispel the myth that science is dull and boring by signing up to STEMNET’s Ambassadors programme, together with government initiatives to close the gap between classroom achievement and the workplace.

All this in addition to the most up to date Industry and Product News in the sector; I hope you enjoy this issue of Education Today and look forward to hearing your views.
