Kids get a sporting chance to win with "My Viva!"
Published:  16 September, 2009

To maintain a beneficial intake of calcium, protein and riboflavin, the School Food Trust recommends that a dairy food is available daily on lunchtime menus and where possible, these should be lower fat varieties.  As the dairy experts, Pritchitts has developed a range of nutritious flavoured milk drinks, with no artificial colours, flavours, sweeteners or preservatives, that appeal to children of all ages.

Its Viva range complies with the current nutritional school guidelines and offers a real alternative to sugary, carbonated drinks.  Made with real fruit juice, semi skimmed milk and only 4% added sugar, the range comes in three delicious flavours  packed in a convenient 200ml Tetra pack with straw, making it ideal for vending or over the counter service.

This year's "My Viva!" competition is open until December 31st and was launched at the LACA Conference.  Children in two age categories will be encouraged to design their own pack for their favourite Viva milk drink and 9 independently judged winners will share in £2,000 worth of sports equipment for their schools.

Simon Muschamp, head of marketing at Pritchitts says, "Milk has played an essential part of our diets for thousands of years, yet today we struggle to get children to appreciate the benefits of dairy food.  We wanted to build on the success of last year's activity by evolving the competition to encourage the natural creativity that all children have, whilst raising their awareness of the goodness in milk."
