Alumasc's Aqualine aluminium gutter system with Flushjoint downpipes perfectly suited the contemporary design of the school, with the added benefit of being manufactured from a 100% recyclable material - a major factor in their specification by East Lothian Council's Architects department.
Aqualine Modern, one of five available gutter profiles, was selected as it facilitates high capacity drainage alongside a sleek and sophisticated appearance. Secret fix bracketry allowed a smooth, uniform cross section along the whole length of the gutter, giving a completely clean external appearance.
Flushjoint downpipes complemented the sleek appearance of the guttering, with the ‘flush joints' based on concealed spigots. Both Aqualine and Flushjoint are manufactured at Alumasc's UK plant and are available in 16 BBA approved, factory applied colour coatings.
The main contractor for the project was Hart Builders of East Lothian and the Alumasc approved installer was John Crawford & Co (Mechanical) Ltd of Glasgow.
