The DRS GPS device determines exact latitude and longitude location to an accuracy of less than three metres. There is no menu system to navigate; the user simply switches it on, and once the satellite positions are fixed, the coordinates are displayed.
The device is fully compatible with all geographic information system (GIS) applications to support the national curriculum and is suitable for use in Key Stage two (7-11 years), three, (11-14 years) and four (14-16 years). The device supports students with their geography coursework and assists them in the capture of GPS location information during out of classroom exercises. In addition to geo-caching activities relating to the curriculum, the DRS GPS device can also be used for more fun activities in schools such as treasure hunts.
