"Christopher brings great authority and a wealth of experience to this role, and I am confident that he will enable TDA to continue to build on the very substantial progress they have made in recent years."
Christopher Baker said:
"I am honoured and delighted to have been invited to take the Chair at the TDA.
"The TDA has an excellent track record of delivery and our challenges will be to maintain and strengthen that as the Agency relocates to Manchester, and to pursue relentlessly the drive to ensure that the Agency's activities have a demonstrable impact on outcomes for children.
"I look forward to working with the team to achieve this".
Graham Holley, Chief Executive of the TDA said:"Chris has already made a significant contribution to the TDA as a Board member, particularly through his highly effective chairing of the Audit Committee."
"I'm sure he will bring his characteristic energy and focus to the role of Chair. He takes up the job at an exciting and critical time for the TDA, with our move to Manchester and the advent of the new Masters in Teaching and Learning just two of the challenges ahead."
