PremierPlus sets a new benchmark for Modular Building Systems
Published:  19 June, 2008

The PremierPlus from Premier Interlink is one of the most innovative and flexible modular building systems.  It is fast and economical to construct. This new system's excellent thermal and acoustic performance radically reduces a building's carbon footprint, increases comfort levels and significantly reduces ‘through life' maintenance costs.

The buildings can be hired on a temporary basis (even for several years) or purchased as a permanent building. However, these are not in any way temporary structures as every PremierPlus building is bespoke and designed to have a 100 year plus structural lifespan.

The quality of the structure is reflected in the standard specification:

  • Significantly reduced running costs with high insulation, increased air tightness (readings as low as 2.5m3/h/m2) and reduced CO2 emissions, making PremierPlus far more environmentally friendly than conventional structures and other modular building systems.
  • The 200 mm thick, galvanised steel wall construction and panel system (the industry norm is 100mm) has zero cold bridging, offering much greater acoustic and thermal qualities.
  • Cable routes located every 300mm within the walls, both vertically and horizontally - dispenses with the need to use visible surface cable conduits.
  • Exclusive window sealing system and cill arrangement that is neat and improves the performance of the uPVC units. Up to 1500 mm deep windows provide more light.
  • External wall finishes can be pre-finished steel, traditional brick, brick slip, cedar or Rainscreen cladding or a combination of one or more of these.
  • Simple and secure push-fit connectors within each section connects services between building modules and different storeys.
  • Up to 5 storeys high buildings can be constructed using standard units, no need to have a specially strengthened base unit and therefore additional units can be easily added at a later date, for better utilisation of the site footprint and even lower construction costs.
  • Exceed Part L2A building regulations and can achieve BREEAM excellent ratings and DDA compliance.
  • 'U' value of the walls, floors and roof exceeds building regulations.
  • Over a typical 25 year period, the whole-life maintenance costs for a PremierPlus building has been found to be lower than a traditional building (source - independent report by BLP, September 2007).
  • Carries a comprehensive 40 year structural guarantee, with Corus Confidex external wall warranty of up to 30 years.
  • Awarded a systems type approval by the LABC (Local Authority Building Control)
  • Exterior cladding system has been independently approved and tested by the 'Loss Prevention Council' to confirm fire performance.
  • Premier Interlink holds ISO 14001 environmental accreditation and ISO 9001 quality assurance.
