Mind mapping software
Published:  15 May, 2008

Mind mapping is a graphical technique of taking notes and visualising thoughts. By providing a radiant structure to place key words around a central image using colours, pictures and drawings, it offers a complete overview of a particular subject.

Maps created in mind mapping software can also store large amounts of information efficiently, on one page.

When you add the dimension that any heading or statement can include a hyperlink to a document, pupils can see the linkages and see the logic. For example, the graphic presentation of ideas created in a lesson can then be put into a child's electronic file on the school server, so they can develop the thoughts for their homework.

Being able to share information on a mind map goes some way towards addressing the data access issues and aids the remote learning paradigm.
