Keeping track of storage
Published:  15 May, 2008

The unique, new Rollastore concept from storage specialists Railex Systems is truly being rolled out in great success - a typical recent example being the installation at the Education Department of Southwark Council in London.

Rollastore features a modular mixture of cabinets or storage untis which can be opened or closed along a tracked base. The design allows for easy pricing and installation, and as the base is not built in to the floor, the system can be relocated at any time. The clever location in Southwark meets absolutely all of the vital criteria in  a single compact  arrangement - security, easy access and major space saving. Some two thirds of the internal fittings accommodate a lateral filing configuration for standard documents thoughtfully colour coded by the nature of the school - for example early, secondary or music - contained within Railex Polyprop pockets which combine strength with literally clear view of the contents plus angled title tabs. The internal flexiblity of the system also accommodates general storage of boxes, folders and stationery. Notably, within the same Railex Rollastore system are 48 lockable mailboxes each allocated to an inspector or consultant, who by the nature of their job don't need a permanent desk but need a facility for storing their laptops, ongoing files and personal items.

Office Manager Daphne Macarthy is delighted with the effect of the new system" Previously we had over 30 old four-drawer cabinets spread around the room, not user-friendly and taking up a lot of space. I also wanted to guide our staff toward efficient management of minimal paper, and the new Railex layout has certainly given us these solutions. The staff are certainly utilising and enjoying the new plan and it has made the working environment much more organised and pleasant, whilst also protecting the sensitive and valauble contents and saving considerable retreival time".
