The gateway to healthy chips
Published:  15 February, 2008

It's no revelation that children continue to love chips whatever the political climate. A recent study showed 31% of 11-15 year olds steadfastly want chips on their school menu over anything else.

However, the new government guidelines dictate schoolchildren are allowed no more than two or more oil-based or oil coated products a week, putting pressure on school caterers to find healthier alternatives.

Farm Frites has the answer thanks to its Nature's Goodness range, which incorporates not only low fat chips - the only chips on the market with less than 5% fat even after frying, but also delicious wedges and mash. Every Nature's Goodness product boasts:

  • 50% less fat
  • 70% less saturated fat (when fried in oil with less than 30% saturated fat)
  • 30% less calories
In a bid to instigate more nutritious children's menus, Farm Frites has also developed School Caterer Support Packs, full of informative and fun resources for junior and secondary schools alike.
