Currently broadcasting on BBC2 Schools - this UK produced series of 13 half-hour episodes features Bible stories from both Old and New Testaments and uses state-of-the-art 2D and 3D animation to tell the story of two first-century young people - Macky and Portia.
Now a special Organisation Presenter's Pack of seven DVDs is available to schools priced at £90 including the licence to use the material throughout the school.
In Series 1, the heroes meet in Roman occupied Alexandria AD69 and their idealism and friendship leads them into many exciting adventures. In each episode the friends share Bible stories as a way of encouraging each other and introduce a new generation, whatever their faith, to these stories in a very natural way.
Children are enthralled as Macky and Portia become friends and then heroes. They share in the adventure, recognising the courage and compassion needed to overcome the everyday dangers faced by Macky and his friends. And Macky learns that one person can make a difference - as a friend or as a hero.
The 13 lesson plans are designed to complement the national RE syllabus guidelines for ages 7-11 throughout the UK. A CD-ROM containing PDF files is included in every pack allowing teachers to print as many worksheets as required. Lesson themes include:
- What is worship?
- How am I feeling?
- Turning bad things into good
- Being brave
- Friendship and forgiveness
- Making Choices
