BSEC - Gain a better understanding of fencing for schools
Published:  18 January, 2008

Procter Fencing Systems, one of the UK's leading manufacturers of fencing and gates, will be on stand 743 at BSEC 08 to exhibit its range of perimeter fencing. Visitors to the stand will also be given a free copy of Fencing for Schools, a specifier's guide to perimeter security fencing for schools.

Procter has an extensive range of perimeter fencing systems for schools. Depending on each project's requirements, the company offers welded wire mesh (weldmesh), vertical bar (railing), palisade and chain link fencing. Furthermore, Procter also has highly experienced surveying and installation teams, enabling schools anywhere in the UK to benefit from the full breadth and depth of Procter's expertise.

Research commissioned by DfES showed that fencing is the most important of all school security measures. When properly specified and installed, fencing helps to reduce trespass, theft, arson and truancy, as well as enhancing the personal safety of staff and visitors.

However, selecting the optimum type of fencing, together with complementary security measures such as gates, CCTV and access control, is not as straightforward as might be expected. Procter Fencing Systems will therefore have experienced staff on its stand at BSEC to discuss visitors' projects and provide advice.
