Yorkon will be launching its new design tool, which helps architects and specifiers work with modular building.
Available in interactive pdf and 3D Autocad formats, the tool contains a comprehensive guide to steel-framed modular construction to assist architects in developing a building design for a specific school site. It features both dimensional and construction detailing to facilitate the production of fast and accurate project drawings.
The guide has been developed by Yorkon in response to the increasing interest from architects and contractors in modular building. It will help specifiers gain a better understanding of the system and the process in order to maximise the benefits of off-site construction for schools and local authorities, and to design for modular rather than site-based construction from the outset.
The Yorkon approach to off-site construction is highly sustainable. It will deliver higher quality education buildings on time and on budget and with less disruption to staff and pupils. It can reduce programme times by up to 50 per cent, is safer, more predictable and offers enhanced thermal efficiency for lower running costs.
Yorkon will be exhibiting at BSEC on stand 227 or visit www.yorkon.info
