At last. A book that will teach teenagers everything they need to know about money.
Jonathan Self has written the first ever guide to personal finance aimed specifically at teenagers. The book is divided into three parts:
Money secrets that will set you up for life explains why money isn’t boring and sets out the basic principles of good money management.
Things you need to know before you reach 20 covers all the practical issues such as banking, saving, coping with money at university and avoiding the dangers of debt.
Long-term money matters demystifies such topics as buying a home, insurance and the pensions crisis.
This book is rich in information and advice, accessible, easy to follow and entertaining to read. It is written in a clear and unpatronising style. It’s publication is particularly timely as the government recently added ‘economic wellbeing and financial capability’ to the National Curriculum.
Jonathan Self is an author and journalist. He knows about money because he used to run Self Direct, one of the UK’s largest financial services marketing consultancies and he knows about teenagers because he has five children aged 11-26.
