Avoid slips and trips
Published:  06 December, 2007

Health and safety is at the top of schools’ agendas. Floors in entrances, circulation areas and science and technology laboratories, in particular, are surfaces that see the most slips and trips.

Specifiers, designers and installers of flooring are facing new guidelines which clarify the requirement for safety flooring. These guidelines will be enforced by the HSE so those responsible for flooring in schools will need to take them into consideration when choosing their coverings.

Using intelligent cutting techniques, installers are able to create patterns, logos or mottos within the flooring so the finished project is unique.

Altro Maxis is a new generation of safety floors that are specifically developed for high traffic areas, so is perfect for school corridors or receptions. With easy clean and stain resistance technology, the flooring delivers on cleanability, colour retention and lower life cycle costs. Independent testing also proves that Altro Maxis outperforms its competitors and provides savings on maintenance.
