Kawneer breaks the mould with new sliding window
Published:  06 December, 2007

A thermally-broken vertical sliding window that is eminently flexible but compliant with the ventilation requirements of Document F has been launched by leading architectural aluminium systems supplier Kawneer.

The AA®3610 has been designed to appeal particularly to the architect/specifier and is suitable for use in new-build or refurbishment projects in a wide variety of commercial sectors including education and healthcare.

The AA®3610 gives market-leading weather performance, independently tested at the BRE to Class 9A (600Pa).

Excellent thermal properties are achieved by a unique polyamide break that is designed to give ultimate performance for smooth operation, weather resistance and thermal efficiency while the streamlined design offers increased light and air flow and a smooth, flat facade.

Total flexibility is achieved through a range of options varying from single and double sliding and fixed light to punch out openings or composites. Key features include a neat, integral handle pull and bead glazing on the fixed and opening light (glazing 24-32mm).

In addition, Kawneer’s AA®3610 has several unique features. The same size glass can be accommodated on both the sliding sash and fixed light which means improved aesthetics and light for architects.

The integration of composite fixed lights/opening lights in a single frame means less metal but more air flow and light and greater aesthetics with matching sightlines which are further enhanced with dual colour options. And the Kawneer unique thermal break design means incredible thermal performance coupled with smooth operation.
