BegreeN – A Class act
Published:  06 December, 2007

The Pilot Pen Company is predicting a massive shift in the buying habits of schools and colleges in 2008.

According to John Cotterell, Pilot’s National Account Manager (Education): “The environment is a high priority for Bursars, Teachers and Pupils alike who are now demanding and switching to green versions of every day products.

“We have been busy promoting our BegreeN range of recycled writing instruments around the UK and recently attended the East Riding of Yorkshire Head Teachers conference to showcase our BegreeN range of recycled writing instruments and the enthusiasm for the range was unbelievable.

“Almost all the head teachers we spoke to said they’d buy our BegreeN range through their Educational catalogues. We now supply East Riding Supplies and they will be featuring our BegreeN range in their April catalogue.” “BegreeN is just one of many products that are helping schools and colleges to reduce their carbon footprint. Environmental issues are not only changing our behaviour they but also the way we learn and with a growing number of schools and colleges committed to reducing their environmental impact, manufacturers need to respond.

”Whilst the feedback we have received is very positive it’s not ‘green at any price’ as teachers want manufacturers to offer price parity with green product options. Pilot’s BegreeN range has the same performance and price as our non-recycled products so this is a huge benefit for us.”
