Babylon, the leading provider of single-click translation and information access solutions, today announces the release of its latest version, Babylon 7. Aimed at consumers, business users, educational institutions and students, the new version provides translation results in over 75 languages including English, French, Hebrew, Korean and Arabic, as well as the instant retrieval of a diverse range of reference information.
Babylon 7 supports Windows Vista and is available for PDA and smart phone devices. Babylon 7 is a fast and powerful translation and reference tool that delivers results from a database of 1,300 dictionary and translation resources containing millions of terms. Users simply click on any word, term or number in any application – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email, Internet browser, Instant Messenger – to have the item translated, concisely explained or converted in a small, non-intrusive pop-up window. The user does not have to leave the application being worked in, therefore eliminating the need to open additional browsers or ‘copy and paste.’
Babylon also provides full text translation up to 256 characters to and from 17 languages with a single click.
Smart Dictionary is a function that enables the translation between languages when a direct translation dictionary is not available in Babylon, for example Chinese to German. In this instance, Babylon delivers results from existing online dictionaries and then presents a Smart Dictionary result. system.
