The exercise has put the young people at the heart of their learning by giving them the chance to develop the practical use of the school’s ‘built environment’ - ultimately benefiting future generations of pupils at Peases West Primary School.
The challenging process is a wonderful partnership intervention between the school, the creative practitioners and a team of analytical researchers that aims to prove how the different use of ‘space and the school environment’ can affect the level of learning.
The young people have devised various design concepts that will hopefully be implemented in the transformation of the school’s ‘external space’ into a safe, comfortable and thriving hub of learning activity.
Creative Partnerships Durham Sunderland has developed strong partnerships and research programmes with 22 core schools. Their vision is to build upon these relationships and to embed the Creative Partnerships practice with a wider range of schools and partners.
