Briefed on 6th August by Hull’s schools strategy manager Allyson King, Wernick is targeting the 3rd September as the completion date. Ed Balls stated at the beginning of the flood emergency that his priority was to ensure that, “every child and young person can be back in school by September”.
To meet Hull’s educational accommodation emergency, Wernick Hire, one of the largest independent hirers of modular accommodation in Britain, will be drawing on their reserve stocks held in 27 depots around Britain.
The 3,500 square metres of modular accommodation space will be delivered as 140 separate units to primary, secondary and special needs schools. All Wernick’s Hire’s accommodation will have to be on site within four weeks from the date that Trevor Shayler, Wernick’s northern regional manager for hire, received a briefing from Hull City Council.
