The World Education Games will be taking place from 6th- 8th March 2012, and will involve World Maths Day, World Spelling Day and World Science Day, which are all free to enter for schools. The philosophy behind the games is to get students around the world as excited about maths, spelling, science and writing as they do about sport. It also helps to unite students around the world and makes learning a fun experience! This is a hugely popular event with 5.5 million students expected to take part from over 200 countries. Everybody can achieve and by providing a positive experience, we hope to repeat the success of the games from last year. Registration is now open, so please go to the website and start practising!
We are also inviting all schools participating in the World Education Games to unite together in support of UNICEF’s School-In-A-Box program. A donation of £150 to UNICEF is enough to purchase a School-In-A-Box – a learning kit which gives around 80 children the opportunity to start school. This has an immediate, tangible impact in poor communities, and can be replenished year after year. You can find more information about this on the games website.
