All the world’s a stage with Ultralight
Published:  01 September, 2007

It’s hard to imagine that the Ultralight staging system from Gopak could get any more advanced. Already highly cost-effective, strong, portable, compact, easy to install and de-rig, and very adaptable – the system is a true market leader.

But Gopak, the UK’s market leader in the design, manufacture and supply of practical aluminium lightweight furniture, has now added even more enhancements to the staging solution to make it a real show stopper.

A whole range of value added extras are now available for users to mix and match with their Ultralight staging system - whether in schools, churches, community centres, exhibitions, shopping centres, hotel and conference facilities.

Ultralight decks, which combine to create a complete stage, are now available in a wide array of sizes and five distinct colours. These range from black vinyl all the way to Chianti red.

A selection of coloured valances in black, blue, green and red can be added to conceal the risers, which are set at different heights to support stand-out effects like tiers and steps. Purely for aesthetic purposes, the valances add that final touch to any staging set-up.

For added safety, an optional powder coated steel Guardrail has been introduced. The rail slots directly onto the Ultralight staging deck, and comes in two lengths (1 metre or 2 metres) with either straight or cornered fixings.

Gopak has also launched a new Chair Stop Plate. This can either be attached to the Guardrail or directly to the deck and, prevents chairs from slipping off the stage. Step guardrails are also available to span 2 or 3 steps with increments of 200mm.

Specially designed transportation trolleys, made from strong, bright zinc plated steel with heavy duty wheels for total manoeuvrability, take all the effort out of moving and storing the temporary staging equipment.

Available in two sizes, they harness a ‘safety comes first’ design ethos, easy storage and best in class portability. Features include storage straps to lock decks in place and ultra reliable brake castors.

To ensure complete compliance with DDA requirements, Gopak has also introduced the Aero Light Ramp which enables wheelchair users to easily access staging in situ.
