Hi-tech shading for performing arts studio
Published:  01 July, 2007

Faber Blinds has supplied and fitted radio-controlled black-out blinds in a new multipurpose performing arts studio at Edgbaston School near Birmingham.

Specified by architects, Michael Payne Group of Birmingham, this high–tech screening solution is operated remotely from a central lecturn and replaces blackout curtains which were installed when the building was first completed. The installation of the blinds represented a considerable technical challenge for Faber, which had to work with 14 metre ceiling heights as well as existing electrical, acoustic and lighting elements.

Faber Blinds specialises in solar shading requirements and has a long track record in the education sector from state and PFI to public schools and colleges.
