Barco releases world’s best-performing 1080p HD three-chip DLP projector for higher education
Published:  01 July, 2007

Barco, a leading developer of professional display solutions, proudly launches the latest addition to its line of network-centric projection systems. The iCon NH-12 combines the best of three-chip DLP technology and a 12,000 lumens light output, with the newest durability-enhancing chassis and Windows desktop integration.

The iCon NH-12 is operated with keyboard and mouse through Windows desktop integration, and both sources and layouts can be selected easily through the Start Menu, thanks to special Barco software. It displays all local and networked sources in movable, reconfigurable and resizable windows simultaneously. While its strong light output makes it suitable for projection in even the most luminous environments, such as auditoriums, its multiwindowing capabilities and threechip DLP video quality also make videoconferencing and distance learning possible in full 1080p HD.

Bearing witness of its technological edge is its liquidcooled, sealed optical engine. The most obvious advantage of this new chassis is the prevention of dust entering the projector’s interior, thus reducing routine maintenance and reducing the technical staff’s workload. However, this also enhances its system lifetime with up to 60%, compared to other three-chip DLP systems on the market. With the added bonus of remote tech support and maintenance over the AV/IT-network, this renders the iCon NH-12 a must-have for any future proof auditorium or advanced education institution.

The iCon NH-12 complements Barco’s existing range of networkcentric projection systems for the higher education market, which includes the other 1080p HD iCon H250, H500 and H600 projectors, each of which can be used in smaller auditoriums or classrooms, and can also be linked to the entire facility network.
