The Aegis Recorder is designed to collect fieldwork data for the award-winning Aegis 3 Geographic Information System (GIS) for schools. Sample surveys on crime and microclimate are provided but pupils can collect data outside the classroom on other topics, such as litter, river data or environmental assessments. Teachers can easily create a data capture form on a PC and transfer it via cable, infra-red or Bluetooth onto the pupils’ PDAs for their surveys.
When the survey is complete, data records, including photographs of each location can be transferred to a PC for quick and easy mapping in AEGIS 3. All the data, even the photographs, are ready to display at the correct locations on the map.
