Altro’s green products are an educated choice
Published:  12 March, 2010

Altro Suprema™ has been installed throughout Broadheath Community Primary School in Coventry, providing an attractive, safe and environmentally-friendly flooring solution for the school.

A host of different colours and patterns were used in classrooms, general circulation areas, staff room and studio space. The vast range of colours in the Altro Suprema range meant the flooring could be perfectly matched to the vibrant feature walls within the school.

Carl Harper, project manager at C&A Flooring in Cannock, said: “The environmental credentials of materials used within construction projects is an extremely important consideration. Specifying Altro Suprema, which has an A rating under BRE profiling, helped us to achieve our sustainability goals. Consequently, Associated Architects and Wates Construction are using Broadheath Community Primary School as a blueprint for a number of other educational projects.”

Altro Suprema is a hard-wearing vinyl safety flooring offering excellent slip and impact resistance. It provides a safe and durable surface for general circulation areas, with an attractive finish with none of the sparkle commonly associated with traditional safety flooring. It incorporates Altro Easyclean Maxis technology, which has been independently proven to outperform competitor products for colour retention and ease-of-cleaning.

In tests carried out by Cleaning Research International, flooring incorporating Altro Easyclean Maxis technology achieved less dirt pick up and therefore better colour and appearance retention than competitor products. Altro Easyclean Maxis technology can also help significantly reduce cleaning costs. Analysis by the British Textile Technology Group (BTTG) found that 600m2 of safety flooring incorporating Altro Easyclean Maxis technology compared to traditional safety flooring without it can save end-users over £1,000 a year.
