Futia aids building schools for the future
Published:  29 January, 2010

School surroundings influence children’s academic performance and their personal sense of well-being.  Futia from The Consortium, the award-winning independent supplier to schools, provides a one-stop shop service for the individual finishing touches.

The Consortium has supplied over £5 million worth of storage furniture, chairs, computer tables and pods, specially designed lunchtime seats, playground equipment and bike racks.

Teaching methods may have changed over the years but in many establishments the same old chairs, tables and infrastructure remains.  Futia has shown how major refurbishment projects can benefit from simple improvements such as effective storage, display boards and comfortable, supportive seating.

Futia offers project management from initial design concept to sourcing hard to find products from over 400 approved suppliers, through to delivery and installation, allowing schools to focus on teaching pupils.

The Consortium’s Chief Executive Melanie Teal said:   “The response to Futia from schools has already been very positive.  We work in partnership with architects and construction companies supported by the same committed, vibrant and innovative service ethic that has made The Consortium a success.”
