Steljes launches IRIS connect
The world’s most advanced CPD system for schools
Published:  29 January, 2010

IRIS Connect is a unique new web application and mobile camera system which revolutionises the process of lesson observation and sharing best practice. Colleagues can make time-linked verbal or written notes about the practice they are observing, which are automatically added to the lesson recording at the relevant point. Recordings can be indexed and uploaded to the IRIS Connect Secure Server for future reference and sharing with colleagues, if desired.

Based on extensive research, IRIS Connect is a versatile, community-based, continuous professional development (CPD) platform.

“IRIS is a leading-edge product that will enable teachers to fine tune their teaching practice with first-hand evidence.  I will be using IRIS to support my own development in the classroom.  Furthermore, IRIS is going to become integral to the development of NQTs in the future,” Howard Hoare, Director of E-Learning, Millais School, Horsham.

Training is key to optimising and retaining good teachers at all career stages, and IRIS Connect allows teachers to schedule their own observations, to reflect and identify their requirements and monitor the effectiveness of mentoring and coaching support. With IRIS, teachers also benefit from learning in the classroom where the barriers to training enactment actually exist.

“IRIS Connect boosts enactment significantly, making it a breakthrough technology for teacher CPD.  It can significantly improve both the skills of the 500,000 teachers in the UK – and the educational outcomes of their pupils,” comments Matthew Jacks, Business Manager at Steljes.
