Midlands School wins through at national competition
Published:  10 December, 2009

Roman Way First School in the West Midlands has won a national competition, launched by gate manufacturer Cannock Gates, to win a state-of-the-art school entrance worth £2,000, fighting off competition from ten other schools across the UK, securing 74,014 votes to win the prize.

This month, pupils and teachers at Roman Way First School were joined by the Mayor of Redditch and gate manufacturer Cannock Gates to unveil the new entrance.

Jane Scarborough, head teacher, commented: “We are absolutely thrilled to finally have our new gate in place.  Our school motto is only my best will do‚ and we encourage all our pupils to take pride in their school and each other.  The school’s old gates simply didn’t do it justice.  We have worked closely with Cannock Gates to design the perfect entrance for our school, incorporating both our school colours and motto.

Cannock Gates offers the UK’s largest range of wooden gates and wrought iron style gates and railings. Most pairs of gates are suitable for automation, with a choice of above and below ground hydraulic systems and electromechanical systems, some designed for easy DIY installation. An installation service is available for gates, railings and automation.
