SportsArt Fitness UK excels academically
Published:  09 November, 2009

SportsArt Fitness UK is no stranger to the educational sector and has many years experience in working closely with schools, colleges and universities to identifying and develop fitness opportunities. As part of an international fitness equipment manufacturing group, SportsArt has designed sporting facilities, supplying a range of cardio and strength training equipment that can be purchased, rented or utilised in the development of ‘dual-use' commercially managed operations that are self financing.

Over the years, SportsArt has identified that many educational establishments under-use their sporting facilities that could be exploited further for the benefit of the school and local community. A ‘dual use' operation generates an income for the school by allowing the sporting facilities to be used out of normal hours. There are many educational establishments that have already benefitted by SportsArt qualified experience in planning and setting up of dual-use facilities.

SportsArt - an educated choice for Watford Grammar

Watford Grammar School for Girls recently installed SportsArt Cardio and Strength training equipment in its new ‘dual-purpose' development - Fuller Life Health and Fitness Centre, to be used by students, parents and the wider community out of school hours.

Fitness Centre Coordinator Liza Hyde reported, "Selection of the right products was essential as the dual-purpose facility was designed mainly for female students and therefore, it was important to achieve the right ratio of strength v cardio equipment. We did not want to intimidate, whilst we also did not want to marginalise facilities for male users.

Several fitness equipment suppliers tendered for the project to supply new treadmills, elliptical trainers, rowers and strength training equipment, but with SportsArt, we successfully achieved the right equipment balance that has been proven by our growing membership."

SportsArt proves a winner at Excelsior Academy

The Excelsior Academy situated in the West End of Newcastle awarded SportsArt the contract to supply cardio and strength training products to equip its new fitness centre, purposely designed to support and encourage students, staff and the local community to participate in leisure pursuits.

Peter Snowdon - Business Manager for Excelsior Academy reported, "It was vitally important that any new selected fitness equipment was user friendly and fit for purpose, especially as the facilities were to be in constant use by a wide age group, 7 days a week.

SportsArt supplied treadmills, ellipticals, upright & recumbent bikes, chest, shoulders and arms apparatus and as a result, feel that we have provided members with an excellent balanced training circuit within our budget.

The project was completed on time, within budget and provides Excelsior Academy with a state-of-the art fitness suite to complement the PE curriculum."
