Disposing of modular buildings - sustainably
Published:  08 July, 2009

Foremans Relocatable Building Systems is looking to expand its stocks of pre-owned modular buildings to meet the demand for its services, and will buy, remove and recycle quality single or multi-storey modular accommodation that is surplus to requirements.

This gives schools and local authorities with modular buildings that are no longer required, or too large to meet their changing needs, a sustainable, fast and cost-effective means of disposing of excess accommodation.

Foremans, the UK's largest purchaser of pre-owned modular buildings, removes up to 1,000 steel-framed modules every year from sites across the UK as demand for its building services continues to increase.

The recycling and refurbishment of modular buildings is now recognised as one of the most sustainable methods of construction - reducing the volume of waste sent to landfill and preserving the structural elements of a building which have significant embodied energy.
