The last three years the College has undergone a programme of sympathetic refurbishment in keeping with the age of the buildings, parts of which date back to 1827. The focus of that refurbishment, which was specified with sustainably produced products wherever possible, has now moved on to the five key hospitality sites - Brasserie, Deli Bar, Student Bar, a new Coffee Shop and, the last area to be tackled, the Refectory which caters for 2000 diners a day.
Nicholas Turner, Director of Facilities at the College, chose to work with John Nelson of Nelson Catering Equipment, who approached Victor Manufacturing to make the counters. Nelson and Victor's Area Sales Manager, Scott Taylor, proposed a custom-designed series of counters to allow for flexibility of menu choices whilst promoting a free flow of diners in the servery area.
The Victor servery features a hot counter for main courses; a theatre area featuring hot and cold units; a beverage and soup section, and; finally, a centrally-sited refrigerated salad bar. The heated and refrigerated units are from Victor's Synergy range.
