New rinse system offers education-sector warewashing big savings
Published:  15 May, 2009

The new 'rinse water saving' option, originally developed last year by Winterhalter for its MTR series of rack warewashers, has now been extended to its MTF large-scale flight-type systems as well. The option offers cash-strapped education-sector caterers huge savings in water, energy and consumables.

Flight dishwashers are becoming increasingly popular with schools and higher education facilities that need fast and efficient washing of large numbers at once.

The results of the rinse water saving option are dramatic and convincing, says Winterhalter.  The option can reduce the quantity of rinse water required by as much as thirty percent.  And the savings don't stop there, because by saving water it also reduces the amount of other resources needed, including power, detergent and rinse aid, by the same proportion.

Depending on the model, these savings can potentially be huge - up to £5,000 per year in operating costs, even more in busy sites.

The rinse water system is especially important because this section is traditionally the heaviest consumer of water and the point at which the final cleanness of crockery, utensils and glassware is determined.

Winterhalter MTR rack and MTF flight dishwashers are available with preferential discount from the OGC under contract number A126449A; the Seg numbers are 9/6; 99/8; and 99/1.  For further details, call Winterhalter on 01908 359000, see www.winterhalter.co.uk, or email info@winterhalter.co.uk.
